Enhance your ability to help your patients with some common upper extremity problems. In this session, explore case-based scenarios dealing with carpal tunnel, elbow and shoulder pain. Diagnosis, treatment, documentation, coding and home exercises will be discussed.

Are you looking to revitalize your OMT skills to treat the cervical and thoracic areas? Has it been a while and you want to get comfortable with OMT? Or do you want to learn some new approaches? Geared towards those who are looking to refresh their OMT skills, this session will review the diagnosis and treatment of the cervical and thoracic. Using cases common to the outpatient practice, we will discuss diagnosis and landmarks, cover some treatments and review the documentation and billing requirements.

Evaluation and treatment of URI, allergies, pneumonia and asthma will be explored. Building on the concepts covered in Level 1 and geared towards the physician who is comfortable with OMT diagnosis and treatment of the cervical and thoracic spine, this session will cover a deeper dive into the cervical and thoracic spine, with less emphasis on diagnosis and more on techniques. Case-based and reflecting real-world scenarios, this session will build in techniques for when patients are not following the expected course and touch on adjunctive roles for therapy and exercises.

Gastrointestinal Diseases: Evaluation of GERD, IBS & Abdominal Pain (OMT Next-Level)
Expand the use of OMT in your management of common gastrointestinal diseases. This session will feature case-based incorporation of osteopathic principles and practices for patients who present to your family medicine office with gastrointestinal illness. Evaluation and treatment of GERD, IBS and abdominal pain will be explored. Somatic dysfunction diagnosis, osteopathic manipulative treatment, documentation, coding and billing will also be included.

The ACOFP is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to sponsor continuing medical education for osteopathic physicians. ACOFP anticipates this program will be approved for over 30 AOA Category 1-A CME credits. In addition, application for CME credit will be filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for those physicians seeking CME credit through this mechanism.
