Get Involved With ACOFP

Whether you are interested in joining the ACOFP Board of Governors, becoming a peer review intern, advocacy, or awards, we have a range of opportunities for you to get involved in ACOFP—even outside the path of standard volunteerism. Whatever your niche or passion, there are plenty of ways for you to forge your own path within ACOFP!

Featured Opportunity

Third-year residents planning to take both the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) cognitive and practical exams are eligible for up to $1,400 in financial support via the ACOFP Foundation. Partial grants may be awarded.

Traditional Leadership

"I applied to be the ACOFP Resident Governor because I wanted to be a champion for residents. As the next generation of family physicians, we need to be a part of the process shaping ACOFP to better reflect our values.”
                                                          Jordan Wong, DO

Congress of Delegates

The ACOFP Congress of Delegates is ACOFP’s legislative body, composed of appointed members from each affiliate or state society. It elects new officers and members to serve on the Board of Governors. Congress meets each spring at the ACOFP Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars.

Thought Leadership

ACOFP has a number of engagement opportunities outside of traditional leadership pathways. Whether you’re interested in submitting content, or becoming a specialty peer reviewer, find ways to contribute to thought leadership with ACOFP:

Find your niche in the osteopathic family medicine profession! Getting involved with ACOFP Resident Council allows you the opportunity to effectively communicate with residents and to develop resources to ensure residents in ACGME programs remain connected to ACOFP.

Recognition & Engagement

ACOFP's awards program recognizes exceptional members and their commitment to upholding osteopathic values. Help us celebrate merit, dedication and leadership by applying for or nominating an ACOFP member for one of our awards:

Additional opportunities for engagement, such as signing onto advocacy call-to-action campaigns and participating in observance/recognition campaigns, may also be available throughout the year.
