Medical school is great at preparing you for a career in medicine, but little is ever taught about preparing for your financial future. There are many things to consider for someone who quickly goes from no income and large debt to a high-earning potential. This lecture will cover the basics for developing a holistic approach to financial planning. Brandon, a financial advisor, and Rachel, a new family physician in practice, are a married couple who will share their unique perspectives on managing finances for physicians. By identifying common pitfalls and providing tips from real life experience, they hope to inspire students to make smart decisions early that will lead to a stable financial future. This course covers a variety of topics, including insurances, budgeting, student debt, tax planning, retirement and estate planning.
