JOIN THE AUXILIARY
No one gets by on his or her own—especially during osteopathic medical school and residency—which is why the Auxiliary to the ACOFP was formed. Spouses and significant others of osteopathic physicians have joined together with a mission to support those just starting out in family medicine. To date, about 3,200 men and women are actively participating in the Auxiliary by raising money through dues, drawings, sponsorships and direct donations.

The mission of the Auxiliary to the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians is to promote and support public health and educational activities in national and community health endeavors.

ACOFP & AUXILIARY STUDENT AWARDS

OUTSTANDING OSTEOPATHIC STUDENT OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award recognizes an osteopathic medical student who demonstrates strong philanthropic and community service. This annual award provides one osteopathic medical student with $5,000 to help defray medical school and/or personal expenses, and affirms the recipient's activities and outstanding community service within the osteopathic family medical association. A joint effort between the ACOFP and the Auxiliary to the ACOFP Awards Committee review applications and selects the recipient of the award. The award winner will be announced at the Virtual ACOFP 58th Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars in March 2021.

EMERGING OSTEOPATHIC STUDENT LEADER AWARDS
The ACOFP and Auxiliary to the ACOFP annually awards $2,500 to qualified emerging student leaders in osteopathic family medicine and the ACOFP. These awards are intended to assist the students in defraying their medical school and/or personal expenses and to affirm the recipients’ interest in association leadership.

FUTURE LEADERS CONFERENCE SUPPORT
The Auxiliary annually provides support to the ACOFP Future Leaders Conference, which is designed to teach selected new physicians in practice and family medicine residents who are interested in achieving a greater awareness of their leadership style so they can make a greater impact in the profession and in ACOFP.

FUND RAISING SUPPORT
The Auxiliary advocates for the American Osteopathic Association (AAOA) by supporting their fundraising events and Student Associate Auxiliary programs.

STUDENT PROGRAMMING AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Auxiliary support enables more students to attend the ACOFP Annual Convention. Students benefit from leadership development programs and say the annual convention is important in their decision to be active ACOFP members.

EMERGENCY RESERVE FUND FOR RESIDENTS AND STUDENTS
The Emergency Reserve Fund has been created to aid with relocation expenses for residents and students who are displaced by closing residency programs.
