This lecture will provide a real world dive into implementation of a virtual reality simulation program in a community based family medicine residency. Participants will be able to discuss virtual reality in depth including equipment, cost, and limitations with key hospital stakeholders to better aid in acquiring funding and faculty time allocation. Research discussed will include the applications of VR into ambulatory, inpatient and surgical fields as well as adjunct teaching tools such as virtual anatomy. Practical insights into various software that is available, scenario de-briefing and resident milestone assessment will also be discussed.
