This session provides an interactive educational discussion about the collaboration between medicine and dentistry. Participants will learn about the practice of dentistry and how oral health can be a predictor/indicator of general health if the physician knows what to look for orally. There will be a review of oral anatomy and pathologies, as well as how to diagnose and treat common oral emergencies. Participants will also learn oral preventative care to implement in daily practice.

Learning Objectives:
Identify oral anatomy in pediatric and adult patients and its importance during physician examination.
Recognize common oral pathologies and treat common oral emergencies including prescriptions and referrals. Review common oral manifestations of systemic disease.
Evaluate remineralization compounds and how to incorporate preventive care within practice especially when it comes to patients with dry mouth, cancer patients and high caries risk patients.
Assess why the "team" approach between dentistry and medicine can allow us to treat our patients more comprehensively.
