Why did you choose this residency program?

This program balances a full spectrum family medicine training with a supportive learning environment.

Why did you choose family medicine?

I love the breadth of practice options and versatility family medicine offers.

What is a typical day like in your life as a resident?

This depends a lot on the rotation. On an inpatient rotation, I am usually in the hospital before dawn prepping for rounds. When I'm in clinic I spend the day seeing continuity patients for office visits. After work I enjoy spending time with my roommate, a fellow resident. We'll frequently meet up with friends and other residents around town or stay in for a movie night.

What do you like to do in your time outside of residency?

I enjoy reading, playing DnD, and getting active outdoors.

Why did you volunteer to join the Resident Council?

Staying connected with the broader ACOFP community is a priority for me. I enjoy meeting people in this profession from across the country who share values and a passion for family medicine.

Were you involved with ACOFP as a student?

Yes, I was on the ACOFP student executive board as the community liaison. Through this role I organized community-focused events such as blood drives and attended the national conference each year.

What is your advice to students?

Set aside structured time outside of studying/work/school. It's important to prioritize the relationships and hobbies that bring you joy even while you're getting through medical school.

When was the first time you realized you wanted to be a physician?

While in undergrad, I attended a lecture by a psychiatrist who worked as a human rights activist through her profession. This was at a time when I was struggling to see how to prioritize school/career when there are so many social issues to worry about. That lecture allowed me to see myself in a career that would be fulfilling while also allowing me to engage on a daily basis with the social issues I care most about.

If you could meet one famous dead person, who would it be?

Albert Einstein

What would you title an autobiography or memoir?
