Why did you choose family medicine?

I chose family medicine because I love being able to care for all aspects of my patients. I wanted to be able to participate in obstetrical care, pediatrics, and women's health. I can do anything because I am trained for everything.

Why did you apply for Future Leaders?

Being a leader means always aiming to learn and grow. Opportunities to hone your skills and learn something new should always be pursued.

How has the Future Leaders program impacted your professional development?

Future Leaders gave me the opportunity to look critically at my leadership style: both the positives and potential setbacks. I can improve how I interact in my sphere of influence by acknowledging what makes me, me. I appreciated meeting with fellow leaders and that feeling of belonging. I loved sharing ideas with people who think like I do.

What piece of advice would you offer to those who may be on the fence?

If you are on the fence about attending the Future Leaders Program, make the jump. It was a whirlwind weekend of learning, laughter, and relaxing with like minded individuals and a stepping stone to being a better version of the great physician you already are.
