As my time as ACOFP Student Governor comes to an end, I want to reflect on this incredible year and express my gratitude to you all. Serving in this role has been an honor, and I have been continuously inspired by the dedication and passion of our student leaders.
The Student Association of ACOFP has grown to 56 active chapters, with three more on the way. In 2024 alone, over 250 student leaders organized 970 activities, including workshops, health fairs, and advocacy initiatives. Osteopathic students across the country are out there making a difference—bringing educational opportunities to our COMs and serving our communities in amazing ways. You all are the heart and soul of ACOFP, and it’s been an absolute blast working with you this year!
Student Committees
The Student Resolutions Committee successfully brought three resolutions to the Congress of Delegates on critical issues:
- Reducing student debt
- COMLEX parity
- Expanding food prescription programs in medicine
The Student Education Committee produced 12 DO.fm Student Edition Podcasts, 26 educational blog posts, and held 8 live webinars for medical students. Meanwhile, our Student PR Committee kept students connected all year through engaging social media content and participated in the podcasts and webinars, too—you can check them out on DO.fm Student Edition!

As we get ready for our biggest student convention yet, we hope you’ll be able to join us! This is an incredible opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate the 75th anniversary of ACOFP. Serving as Student Governor has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my medical journey. I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I know this community will continue to grow and thrive.
To those I’ve had the privilege of working with one-on-one—please don’t ever hesitate to reach out if you need anything, now or in the future. Medicine can be a long and challenging road, but ACOFP is a family, and mentorship and support are always here for you. All you have to do is reach out!
