About the Award

The ACOFP Outstanding Female Leader Award recognizes a female physician who excels as a clinical role model, educator, and distinguished leader and serves as an inspiration to peers and those in medical training.

Award Criteria

  • Must be an active ACOFP member in good standing.
  • Must be currently certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS).
  • Must have no current restrictions on any medical licenses at the time of application.
  • Must be actively practicing in osteopathic medicine.
  • Must demonstrate leadership in their role as a female physician.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Submission of one letter of support from the nominator highlighting the nominee’s leadership, mentorship, and influence as an educator or clinical role model in osteopathic family medicine.
  • Submission of one letter from the nominee’s ACOFP affiliate society supporting their contributions and leadership. If an affiliate society is not available, a letter from a national leader in osteopathic medicine may be submitted instead.
