Ryan M. Smith, DO
New Physician-in-Practice Governor
Dr. Smith practices at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan, where he serves as Core Faculty in the family medicine residency program. He completed his medical degree at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and residency at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, where he also served as a Chief Resident. He previously served as an emergency medical technician with Medic One Ambulance Service in Romulus, Michigan. He also holds a license for Controlled Substances with the DEA.
Dr. Smith has held numerous leadership positions with the Michigan ACOFP, the Michigan Osteopathic Association, Community Service Committee-Oakland Primary Care and the Student Government Association, among others. He served as the Chair on the ACOFP Resident Council, as a Delegate in the ACOFP Congress of Delegates and a member of the Clinical Preparation Committee of the Student Association of the ACOFP.
