About Taylor J. Rider:
Biography & Education
Taylor J. Rider, DO is a PGY-2 resident at UPMC Williamsport Family Medicine Residency in Williamsport, PA, where she will step into the role of Chief Resident in July. She earned her undergraduate degree in Applied Forensic Sciences with a concentration in Forensic Anthropology from Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA, along with minors in Anthropology and Archaeology. She also holds a Master of Science in Human Anatomy from D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY. Dr. Rider is passionate about the diverse nature of family medicine, finding joy in the variety of clinical settings—from newborn care and labor and delivery to adult medicine and specialty rotations. She values the consistency of her program’s structure, including daily didactics that foster camaraderie among residents. Proud of her osteopathic roots, Taylor joined the Resident Council to advocate for holistic, patient-centered care and to help bridge educational and systemic gaps in healthcare. Outside of residency, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, cuddling with her black cat Poe, thrifting, refinishing antique furniture, and indulging her love of ice cream as a self-proclaimed connoisseur.
