ACOFP '24 Health & Safety

Because we value your safety and would love to see and connect with you in person, ACOFP is taking precautions for the ACOFP 61st Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars, taking place April 3–7 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans, Louisiana. View the policies, protocols and expectations of attendees coming on-site below.

If after reading the safety measures we are taking and it is not possible (or preferable) for you to attend in person, we are also offering a virtual convention experience

Liability Waiver

All attendees, including guests, must attest to reading the ACOFP liability waiver below to participate in the event, which outlines masking, testing and general COVID-19 policies and requires self-attestation of COVID-19 testing.

Pre-Travel Testing

All attendees, exhibitors and staff must take a COVID-19 test of their choosing within 72 hours of badge pick-up and may not attend the convention if they receive a positive result.

Mask Requirements

Based on the guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), masks will not be required. Should Orleans Parish move to a “high community level” per the CDC, this policy will be reconsidered.

However, please respect the choice of those who choose to wear masks. We will have extra masks at registration, if you would like to wear one during the convention.

Vaccination Status

ACOFP will not require a COVID-19 vaccination to attend but does strongly recommend that attendees are up-to-date on their vaccination.

"Be Well" Policy

ACOFP respectfully requests that all attendees follow the guidance and recommendations for travel set forth by the CDC. If you are unable to travel based on CDC guidelines, please contact registration@acofp.org to convert your registration to ACOFP ‘24 Virtual, which can be accessed for up to one year after the event.

If you do not feel well during the event, ACOFP asks that you stay in your hotel room. Please email support@acofp.org between 6:00 am ET and 9:30 pm ET with your name and room number to have a COVID-19 test delivered to your door.

Liability Waiver & Self-Attestation

As a condition of my participation in the ACOFP 61st Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars (“Event”) I, on behalf of myself and my guests registered for the Event, do hereby expressly waive any rights against and release and hold harmless ACOFP and any of its officers, employees, affiliates, contractors, agents, heirs, legal successors, and assigns (collectively “ACOFP”) from and against any and all claims, suits, demands, losses, damages, expenses, or liability of whatever kind or nature (collectively “liability”), under any theory of law or equity that may arise during or as a result of my presence at the premises including, but not limited to, any such liability related to or arising out of illness, injury, or death associated with infection of COVID-19 or complications, symptoms, or other effects resulting from contracting COVID-19. I shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ACOFP against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses of whatever kind including, but not limited to, attorney fees, any fees and costs of enforcing any right to indemnification under this Agreement, and any cost of pursuing any insurance providers, arising out or resulting from any claim of a third party related to the Event.

While at the Event and co-joined events and in the Event’s function space, I agree to comply with any government, health authority, venue, and/or ACOFP safety and health requirements and protocols (collectively “Protocols”) throughout the duration of the Event. Regardless of such requirements and protocols, or lack thereof, ACOFP reserves the right to require mask wearing (e.g., KN95 or N95 masks for hands-on OMT Workshops).

I understand that my failure to comply with any Protocols or related requests from the Event venue staff, from ACOFP staff or instructors on site during the Event may result in my loss of the right to attend or to participate in the Event including forfeiting my registration fees.

I, on behalf of myself and my guests registered for the Event, attest that:

I have taken or will take a COVID-19 test of my choosing no earlier than 72 hours prior to badge pick up at the Event;
I will not attend the Event if presenting with any of the known symptoms of COVID-19 or upon receiving a positive COVID-19 test result;
I will not travel and participate in this Event after a known exposure per CDC guidance;
I will self-monitor and report any symptoms of COVID-19 while onsite; and
I will sanitize hands frequently while at the Event.
I understand that rapid tests have the potential to provide a false-negative result, and I accept that I may be exposed to COVID-19 by someone who, in good faith, took a test per ACOFP policy and received a negative result.
