ACOFP '24 Culture of ACOFP Art Showcase & Community Service Project

The Culture of ACOFP Art Showcase
The Student Association of the ACOFP is hosting a unique art project showcase to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that make up the essence of ACOFP. We believe that our organization reflects the diverse backgrounds and unique experiences of its members, especially those from medically underrepresented communities.

Participate and share your cultural heritage through artistic expressions and highlight the incredible diversity within our ACOFP community and the various cultures that influence our work in osteopathic family medicine.

Hear from Student Doctor Yang, who passionately describe his story cloth and its significance in this video. He presents his representation of his Hmong community to ACOFP and how osteopathic family medicine aligns seamlessly with his cultural health beliefs, emphasizing the importance of aligning our spirits with our bodies for optimal healing. Celebrate the power of art and culture in our osteopathic community.

The showcase will be held all day Friday, April 5.

Join Us for a Meaningful Cause!

The Student Association of the ACOFP is proud to announce our national community service project in support of the New Orleans Family Justice Center, a beacon of hope for survivors in the Greater New Orleans area.

About the New Orleans Family Justice Center:

The New Orleans Family Justice Center provides a wide range of FREE services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and child abuse. Their services are trauma-informed and non-judgmental, welcoming survivors at any point in their journey towards healing and empowerment.

How You Can Make a Difference:

Join the Student Association during the opening exhibit reception on Thursday, April 4th as ACOFP comes together as a family to make a positive impact on the New Orleans community by packing therapy and household kits. Your support can make a world of difference:

$10 - Provides transportation for a survivor to access critical services.
$40 - Funds a one-hour healing activity for up to 10 survivors.
$60 - Covers a one-hour individual trauma counseling session.
$100 - Ensures a night of emergency shelter for a family of three in need.

Donations can be made directly on the convention registration form or by working with your local student chapter. Together, we can create a world where survivors find hope, healing, and a brighter future. See you there!
