DISTINGUISHED FELLOW AWARD

The designation of Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians acknowledges those Fellows who have distinguished themselves through service to ACOFP by meeting attendance, as well as by their support of the ACOFP’s local and national governance and committees. FELLOW AWARD
The designation, Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (FACOFP), signifies the recognition of the member’s experience, dedication, and contributions of the highest order to the advancement of family medicine by their peers. View requirements and qualifications.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
The Distinguished Service Award honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service to the ACOFP through committee involvement or other activities that help achieve ACOFP’s objectives. The final selection is made by the ACOFP President.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION AWARD
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award recognizes osteopathic family physicians who make significant contributions toward enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion within the osteopathic profession and osteopathic family medicine education and practice. This award acknowledges practicing osteopathic family physicians who have completed residency and who have demonstrated behavior or led initiatives that foster these principles within diverse and underrepresented communities. The award honors those who have demonstrated such commitment by not only engagement but through demonstrations of initiative and leadership.

EXCELLENCE IN ADVOCACY AWARD
The Excellence in Advocacy Award recognizes physicians who have significantly contributed their time and talents to national health care policy issues at the local, state and/or federal levels on behalf of his/her profession and patients. This award is named in honor of Marcelino J. Oliva, Jr., DO, FACOFP dist. Nominations are solicited from ACOFP affiliate societies and the general membership, with the selection made by the Awards Committee and final approval by the Board of Governors.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The Lifetime Achievement Award honors outstanding individuals who have demonstrated career-long service to patients, osteopathic family medicine, and the ACOFP. Nominations are solicited from ACOFP affiliate societies and the general membership, with the selection made by the Awards Committee and final approval by the Board of Governors.

MASTER PRECEPTOR AWARD
The Master Preceptor Award recognizes preceptors for their sustained commitment to excellence in the training, education and mentoring of osteopathic medical students in family medicine. Nominations are solicited from colleges of osteopathic medicine and other organizations, with the final selection made by the Preceptor Committee, with the approval of the Board of Governors. NEW OSTEOPATHIC FAMILY PHYSICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
The New Osteopathic Family Physician of the Year Award honors physicians who have made significant contributions to family medicine between two and five years after entering the specialty. Nominations are solicited from ACOFP affiliate societies and the general membership, with the selection made by the New Physician Committee, Awards Committee and final approval by the Board of Governors.

OSTEOPATHIC FAMILY MEDICINE EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Osteopathic Family Medicine Educator of the Year Award honors an individual who exemplifies the osteopathic family medicine profession’s highest standards of excellence in teaching and has made significant, commendable, and long-standing contributions to the academic advancement of osteopathic students, residents and the osteopathic profession. Nominations are solicited from colleges of osteopathic medicine and residency programs, with the selection made by the Awards Committee and final approval by the Board of Governors.

OUTSTANDING FEMALE LEADER AWARD
The Outstanding Female Leader Award honors female physicians who serve as clinical role models, teachers, highly accomplished professional leaders and sources of inspiration for women and men who are in medical training. Nominations are solicited from the general membership, with the selection made by the Women’s Leadership Committee, Awards Committee and the Board of Governors.
