The ACOFP Excellence in Advocacy Award recognizes family physicians who have significantly contributed their time and talents to healthcare policy issues at the local, state and/or federal levels on behalf of his/her profession and patients. This award is named in honor of Marcelino J. Oliva, Jr., DO, FACOFP dist.
Application Checklist
For your application to be considered by the ACOFP Awards Committee, the following items must be submitted by September 15, 2022:
- Completed application
- Current curriculum vitae
- At least one letter of recommendation from the nominator or state or affiliate society
- Headshot suitable for publication
Award Criteria
- Be an active ACOFP member in good standing.
- Display exemplary advocacy service and leadership at the national or state level.
Timeline
- September 15, 2022: application deadline
- March 29 – April 2, 2023: awards presentation
Nominations are solicited from the general membership, as well as from ACOFP state and affiliate societies, with the final selection made by the ACOFP Awards Committee and the ACOFP Board of Governors. The award will be presented during the
ACOFP 60th Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars, taking place March 29 – April 2, 2023, in Orlando, Florida.
