Blogs Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject – such as medicine. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Medical blogs range from Best Health Policies/Ethics Weblog to Clinical.
PDA Software
In medicine, PDAs have been shown to aid diagnosis and drug selection and some studies have concluded that their use by patients to record symptoms improves the effectiveness of communication with hospitals during follow-up.. Tthe development of Sensor Web technology has led to discussion of using wearable bodily sensors to monitor ongoing conditions like diabetes and epilepsy and alerting medical staff or the patient themselves to the treatment required via communication between the web and PDAs.
Podcasts A podcast is a digital media file, or a series of such files, that is distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on portable media players and personal computers. People can "subscribe" to this feed by submitting the feed address to an aggregator (like iTunes - software that runs on the consumer's computer). When new "episodes" become available in the podcast they will be automatically downloaded to that user's computer. The material is pre-recorded and users can check out the material at their leisure, offline.
Wikis
Wikis are different from blogs in that they are created and managed by a community of users. A wiki allows multiple users to view and edit the same information from a central Web location. The wiki tracks and saves changes so that you can always revert to a previous edition.
