Jan D. Zieren, DO, MPH, FACOFP dist. Receives Distinguished Fellow Designation from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians
Jan D. Zieren, DO, MPH, FACOFPdist., of Phoenix, Arizona, received her designation as a Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) during its Annual Conclave of Fellows Award Ceremony on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the ACOFP 45th Annual Convention & Exhibition in Denver, Colorado.
The Distinguished Fellow Award honors exceptional members of the Conclave of Fellows. This award is presented to Fellows who have exhibited exemplary service to ACOFP by attendance, as well as support of the governance and committee structures, locally and nationally.
Dr. Zieren, a board certified family practitioner who was named a Fellow of ACOFP in 1993, has extensive experience in medical leadership, regulation and policy development. A current board member of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association, Dr. Zieren is a former member of the Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners, the state agency that regulates osteopathic physicians. She also is serving as the Secretary-Treasurer for the Arizona Society of the American College of Family Physicians and as a state delegate to the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Zieren earned her Master’s Degree in Public Health at the University of Oklahoma and her medical degree at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her postgraduate medical training at Phoenix General Hospital and has been in family practice in Phoenix since 1982.
