CLAUDIA L. LYON, DO, FACOFP RECEIVES FELLOW AWARD OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC FAMILY PHYSICIANS

Claudia L. Lyon, DO, FACOFP of Brooklyn, New York received her designation as a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) during its Annual Conclave of Fellows Award Ceremony on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the ACOFP 45th Annual Convention & Exhibition in Denver, Colorado.

The honorary designation of Fellow is bestowed upon those candidates who have contributed outstanding national and local service through teaching, authorship, research, or professional leadership. They have also contributed outstanding service in their professional career and family practice duties in their community and civic activities.

Dr. Lyon is a 1988 graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) in Old Westbury, New York. She currently serves as chairperson of the Family Practice Department at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York in addition to serving as their Family Practice Program Director.

Dr. Lyon is involved in CME programs and Fellowship programs involving the Association of Family Practice Residency Directors and in Faculty Development for Urban Family Medicine. Her teaching appointments are ongoing for NYCOM and SUNY (State University of New York).
