As a student member, your registration is free, so set aside time to attend the ACOFP 45th Annual Convention & Exhibition, March 12-16, 2008 in Denver. There are unique programs developed exclusively for students such as Residency Program Interviewing Skills and Family Medicine Outside the Box at which four Young Physicians present various types of family practice opportunities: Academic Family Practice, Private Family Practice, Military/Community Service, and CAQ/Community Service.
Plus don't forget Fun Night: ACOFP Fun Night featuring an Auxiliary Casino Fundraiser
This year’s Fun Night will include local music and food, dancing and entertainment for the entire family as well as a Casino Night. Every Fun Night attendee will receive a raffle ticket and those who participate in Casino Night will have an opportunity to win additional raffle tickets for prizes. The many prizes for the Auxiliary Casino Night raffle will include a Littmann Stethoscope, an iPod, a camera, a mini-DVD player, an annual ACOFP membership fee, and an ACOFP Convention registration fee.

Call for Poster Presentations
Abstract Deadline - February 15, 2008
On behalf of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) and its Osteopathic Clinical Research Committee, we are asking Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, Students, Family Practice Residents and Faculty Members to participate in the Poster Presentations during the ACOFP 45th Annual Convention & Exhibition on March 12-16, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Colorado Convention Center.

ACOFP Residency Program Fair

Over 100 AOA-accredited Residency Programs will participate in the 2008 Osteopathic Residency Program Fair/Student and Resident Reception during the ACOFP 45th Annual Convention & Exhibition in Denver Colorado at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center on Friday, March 14, 2008 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Fourth Year Medical Students – Opinions Needed
Jonathan Liu and Reetu Grewal are 3rd year residents at Spartanburg Regional Family Medicine. Their residency program has a research requirement so they have decided to perform a study that will find out what factors influence 4th year medical students planning to enter a family medicine residency program. They hope to determine what factors are modifiable by a residency program making programs more attractive to prospective candidates.
The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous.

Program Description:
Our goal is to broadly train our residents so that they will have the competence, confidence, and comfort to practice in any setting, be it suburban, rural, urban, or overseas. We serve the metropolitan Wichita and rural Kansas areas, population of around 500,000 plus. Our residents are treated as competent physicians from day one and are given the freedom and responsibility to care for their patients at their comfort level from admission to discharge.

Nominations for the 2008-2009 National Student Association of the ACOFP Executive Board of Officers are now open. Elections will be held during the ACOFP 45th Annual Convention & Exhibition.
How do you become a member of the SAACOFP Executive Board of Officers?
- Determine if you meet the criteria for the position you are running for.
