Steven F. Rubin, DO, FACOFP dist., Inaugurated as ACOFP President During 44th Annual Convention & Exhibition
In his inauguration remarks, Dr. Rubin emphasized the significant and unique contributions that osteopathic family medicine can make toward patient care in the United States. “This is such an interesting and important time in the history of osteopathic medicine, and in particular, for osteopathic family physicians,” Dr. Rubin said. “There is a growing need for family physicians in the U.S., and more osteopathic family physicians are graduating from medical school than ever before. Our task is to help prepare them not for today’s health care environment, but for the health care environment 10, 15 and even 20 years from now. We need to prepare them to meet those unknown challenges, and to encourage the leader within that resides in all of our members.” A Board-certified family physician since 1986, Dr. Rubin is a graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Rubin received his Board certification in 1987, recertified in 1995 and in 2004. He received the designation of ACOFP Fellow in 1992, and received his designation of Distinguished ACOFP Fellow by in the inaugural presentation of this award in 2004. 2007-2008 Student Association of the ACOFP Executive Board Members
