This year’s convention will feature a lecture on Depression in Women.
Women account for two-thirds of those who suffer from depressive disorders that affect more than 15 million Americans annually. The clinical challenges associated with diagnosis are numerous, but can be addressed with practical clinical strategies and clinical tools. Once identified, depression can almost always be successfully treated, but studies show that depression is frequently misdiagnosed and under diagnosed in women at mid-life and beyond. This lecture is designed to provide primary care physicians skills and tools to screen, diagnose and treat depression in women at mid-life and beyond.

Strongest Links Renamed Resident Recruiters
The ACOFP Resident Committee has renamed the Strongest Link program - that designates a lead resident at each osteopathic Residency program to take inquiries from students and speak on behalf of the program on campuses - “Resident Recruiters”. Resident Recruiter better describes their duties and mission to actively recruit students into osteopathic family medicine programs.
