Continuing Medical Education

ACOFP is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to sponsor continuing medical education (CME) for osteopathic physicians.

The CME Guide for Osteopathic Physicians pdf — 2007-2009 is designed to provide osteopathic physicians with a basic guideline as to how they may obtain CME credit. All AOA members, other than those exempted, are required to participate in the CME program and to meet specified CME credit hour requirements for the 2007-2009 CME cycle.

ACOFP provides various avenues for its members to achieve the required CME.

ACOFP Intensive Update & Board Review in Osteopathic Family Medicine

ACOFP also provides a three day review for osteopathic family physicians to refresh their knowledge of family medicine clinical topics or to prepare for the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians’ Recertification Exam.

The 2010 ACOFP Intensive Update & Board Review in Osteopathic Family Medicine will be held September 24-26, 2010 at InterContinental Hotel & Resorts, Chicago O'Hare. Registration Information will be available Spring, 2010

The Intensive Update & Board Review in Osteopathic Family Medicine is also now available in electronic format.  It is based on ACOFP’s 2009 Intensive Update and Review Workshop and is offered as both a comprehensive package encompassing the entire contents of the workshop or as individual modules that focus on single topics. For more information, including a sample module preview, or to purchase the product visit ACOFP's online store.

Note: the 2007 Intensive Update & Board Review on CD has been discontinued; if you already purchased the CDs, the online test is still available so you can earn CME credit.

State Sponsored CME

ACOFP State Societies offer local CME and in support of that, ACOFP provides a calendar of education opportunities for ACOFP members that occur around the United States.
