CONGRESS SEATING
State delegations will be located in a modified alphabetic order to accommodate the room’s wider setup and to allow delegations traditionally seated at the back to sit closer to the podium.

RESOLUTIONS
A total of 29 resolutions have been submitted, requiring use of four Reference Committees. We will convene a fourth Reference Committee of the Whole on the single topic of MDs as ACOFP Active Members, immediately following the usual Reference Committee deliberations on other resolutions.

ELECTRONIC DOCUMENTS ONLY

Given the number of resolutions, no printed copies will be provided. Wi-Fi will be available in the Congress sessions and at Reference Committee meetings. Please come to the meetings with charged electronic devices If you prefer printed copies of the resolutions, please print them out in advance and bring to the meeting.

REFERENCE COMMITTEE REPORTS
After the four Reference Committee reports are finalized late Wednesday evening, an email message with link to the reports will be sent to Delegates via email. Also, a Consent Agenda will begin each Reference Committee report for resolutions that the Reference Committee recommends adoption without amendments. Delegates will have an opportunity to remove resolutions from the Consent Agenda so that comments can be made from the floor.

These changes will allow for the processing of all Congress business in a time-efficient and cost effective manner.  If you have questions about the 2019 Congress schedule and how documents will be distributed, please contact ACOFP Executive Director and Congress Secretary, Mr. Bob Moore at bobm@acofp.org or call 847-952-5108.

LEGISLATIVE BODY

The The ACOFP Congress of Delegates is the ACOFP’s legislative body, composed of appointed members from each affiliate or state society. It elects new officers and members to serve on the Board of Governors.

Congress meets each Spring at the ACOFP Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars.

STATE SOCIETY

A state society receives one voting delegate for every 25 active members whose national and state dues are current.

State societies also receive one voting osteopathic family practice resident delegate who is currently enrolled in good standing in an AOA or ACGME residency program in the represented state; is in good standing with the ACOFP state affiliate society; and is in good standing with the ACOFP and AOA.

DELEGATE
All state societies receive one voting delegate from each approved College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) ACOFP Student Chapter within the state.

Each state society is required to send recommendations naming its delegates and alternate delegates to the ACOFP Executive Director at least 30 days before the first day of the Congress of Delegate’s annual meeting. The recommendations must be made in writing.
