Program Description:
Pacific Hospital of Long Beach has an integrated 36-month family practice training program. The first year is designated to satisfy requirements of the American Osteopathic Association. The major focus of this postgraduate medical education program is to train family physicians. The three-year curriculum meets both AOA and ACGME content guidelines. Our training program is committed to providing you supportive faculty, diverse pathology, and outpatient clinic opportunities. Our training programs also have a focus on the importance of the osteopathic philosophy and the concept of health and disease prevention/awareness. The ambulatory continuity experience requires clinic responsibilities for one-half day per week during the OGME-1 year and increasing to four half days as an OGME-2 and OGME-3. A major training component is in the ambulatory care preparing our graduates for managed care setting.
