What is the Future Leaders Conference?
The ACOFP Future Leaders Conference is designed for outstanding new physicians or residents who are interested in achieving a greater awareness of their leadership style and its impact on their professional performance. The overall goals of the conference are to:
- Build professional and personal relationships
- Develop educational opportunities
- Promote the Osteopathic profession
- Nurture leadership and a sense of community
The Future Leaders Conference creates a learning experience where participants explore key leadership concepts as well as gaining greater self-awareness of their own values and leadership styles. Working with other future leaders, they build a strong community, explore new roles for leaders, identify how to manage with uncertainty and change, and enhance their own commitment and motivation as an osteopathic family physician.
“The ACOFP Future Leaders Conference was an excellent opportunity to meet and network with other young osteopathic family physicians. These interactions and the educational sessions inspired me to evaluate and strengthen my leadership skills and get more involved in the ACOFP.”
– Mary Kenney Cirigliano, DO
