Call for Poster Presentations
Abstract Deadline - Thursday, January 31, 2012
Applications for the 2012 Richard J. Kresja, DO, FACOFP dist. Poster Presentations to be held during the 2012 ACOFP 49th Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars March 15-18, 2012 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida will be accepted beginning in mid-July. Osteopathic Medical Students, Family Practice Residents and Faculty Members are invited to participate. The Poster Presentation competition is being sponsored by the ACOFP's Osteopathic Clinical Research (OCR) Committee. .
Osteopathic medical students, family practice residents and faculty members are encouraged to present their research during this special display of scientific posters. It is the goal of the OCR Committee that every osteopathic college of medicine and every family practice residency be represented in this year's poster competition. The benefits for participation include: the opportunity for scholarly activity, to educate attendees at the ACOFP Annual Convention and the chance to project a positive reflection on your institution.
The Osteopathic Clinical Research Committee will review submissions and prizes will be awarded. Poster Presentation submissions will be accepted via e-mail only. All information must be typed directly on the forms and authors are required to submit their Abstract and Abstract Application to Judy Schwellenbach.
All participants will receive a certificate of participation. The prizes for Original Research for Students and Residents will be: 1st place ($500); 2nd place ($250); and 3rd place ($100) each. In a second category of Case Reports, one Student and Resident will be awarded $100 each. Faculty Members will not receive monetary awards. There will be no travel or housing allowance.
The deadline for Poster Presentation submissions is Tuesday, January 31, 2012. The OCR Committee will complete continuous reviews of abstracts as they are submitted. Should you submit early (more than 2 weeks before the deadline) the Committee will make every attempt to review your abstract and provide constructive feedback in order to strengthen your submission.

Abstracts will be published camera ready; therefore, it is essential that authors adhere to all instructions regarding abstract formatting and preparation. If you do not follow the Instructions for submission of your Abstract or Case Report, it will be returned to the author and will not be accepted.
