JOIN THE AUXILIARY
No one gets by on his or her own - especially during osteopathic medical school and residency - which is why the Auxiliary to the ACOFP was formed. Spouses and significant others of osteopathic physicians have joined together with a mission to support those just starting out in family medicine. To date, about 3,200 men and women are actively participating in the Auxiliary by raising money through dues, drawings, sponsorships and direct donations.

The mission of the Auxiliary to the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians is to promote and support public health and educational activities in national and community health endeavors.

A joint effort between the ACOFP and the Auxiliary to the ACOFP Awards Committee reviews applications and selects the recipient of the award. The award winner will be announced at the ACOFP Annual Convention in March 2019 in Chicago, Illinois. RESIDENT SPOUSE STIPEND

The Auxiliary to the ACOFP offers the spouses and/or significant others of residents who are taking the certification board exam the opportunity to win a $300 stipend. Residents must be currently enrolled in an AOA-approved Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency, registered to take the certification board exam, and registered to attend the ACOFP Convention & Scientific Seminars. Letters with an entry form are sent to all registered residents in January. Spouses must return a completed entry form and winners are randomly chosen and notified. The stipends are distributed to the lucky winning spouses at an Auxiliary meeting during the ACOFP spring convention.

FUND RAISING SUPPORT
The Auxiliary advocates for the American Osteopathic Association (AAOA) by supporting their fundraising events and Student Associate Auxiliary programs.

STUDENT PROGRAMMING AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Auxiliary support enables more students to attend the ACOFP Annual Convention. Students benefit from leadership development programs and say the Annual Convention is important in their decision to be active ACOFP members.

EMERGENCY RESERVE FUND FOR RESIDENTS AND STUDENTS
The Emergency Reserve Fund has been created to aid with relocation expenses for residents and students who are displaced by closing residency programs.
